I recently started compiling some of my favorite things on a new social media site called Luvocracy. Lots of people have been asking about my gear so there’s a whole gallery of basically all the equipment that I use and where to buy it. I also went ahead and started a board of gift ideas from my favorite local and/or small businesses that I’ll be adding to over the next couple of weeks (mostly under $50). I’m not a big shopper but it’s helping me organize my wants and I’ve been finding great recommendations from other bloggers like Jessica and Jonathan.
One of my dad’s first places in Venice after he moved to the states and a shot of the two of us in Grenoble.
the best slash worst part of working on a production. arriving on set at dawn. so beautiful. so early.
(this was reveal day on this episode)
In celebration of 12th night (slash just an excuse to hang out and eat tons of amazing food and CAKE!) I got together with family and friends over the weekend and partook in some of the best gratin of my life (apparently the key is white wine, creme fraiche and gruyere and of course lots of garlic), many dishes that involved bacon (one was brussels sprouts and the other salad) and multiple galettes des rois (oh and glasses of wine, too).
It was a nice reminder that traditions are fun when they’re an excuse to see people you love, hide toys in food and wear paper crowns.
So I’ve been living in the new place almost a month and it’s coming together. So far I have:
painted the living room
hung new rods and curtains
painted the bathroom
installed shelf and mirror in the bathroom
attempted to organize these shelves
installed the shelf attachment to my mid century credenza (this was hard, I had some good help)
bought butterfly chairs, rug, coffee table for the living room
gotten rid of a lot of stuff
I would still like to:
cull my closet
paint the bedroom paint the kitchen
get my butcher block out of storage and put it in the kitchen
buy a couch (ahem)
The couch is the first thing–I think I’m going to pull the trigger on one I saw this week. Then I can actually have people over and offer them more than a dining room chair to sit in.
What are your plans this weekend?
