kismet tile

Remember Jon and Tyke’s place in Topanga? Well they moved (here is the tiniest sneak peek) and are in the process of revamping a mid century gem in Pasadena. They started in the kitchen and took the plunge with some incredible modern Moroccan tile from Kismet Tile. Tracey, the mastermind behind Kismet, hired me to shoot the installation and we had a great afternoon making Tyke change outfits, fawning over Monty and eating macarons.

I’m dying to use some Kismet tiles in the house in Todos. Tracey has such an amazing eye and is a real genius when it comes to colorways and pattern design. See all the Kismet designs here. Also can’t wait to share the rest of Jon and Tyke’s house (like the magenta bathroom), they’re so inspiring and awesome.

Hmmm…love the boldness of it but I don’t think I’d use it in my kitchen. I think I’d get sick of it quite quickly.

The colour scheme is amazing. I like the hexagon shape as well, it seems to be having quite a renaissance.
